Celebrate GMHA’s 100th anniversary\, on a ride through the beautiful Vermont landscape of meandering trails\, wooded paths and open fields with incredible vistas from hilltops offered on these rides. \nSet your holiday ride in motion with Thursday’s (9/25) “Trailer Ride Out”  departing from an offsite location (entries and parking are limited – please plan accordingly)  followed with three days of pleasure riding through Sunday (9/28) from the GMHA grounds. \nEnjoy the best time of year for trail riding in Vermont with your equine partner and human friends on the beautiful marked trails GMHA has to offer. \nBegin the day with  light breakfast fare and ride briefing. The trail is then open for riders to head out on either a short loop or long loop option. A pre-ordered lunch served at a scenic location along the way\, or back at GMHA. \nThere are all inclusive (stabling and meals)single & multiple-day ride options as well as “No Frill” rides (no stabling or meals). \n\nPre-Registration is required. This ride fills quickly. GMHA does not accept “Day of entries” for this ride. No entries after the closing date\, no exceptions.\nA wait list will be put in place once the ride fills. Scores from each phase are combined.\nDriven Dressage tests are judged similarly to a ridden dressage test\, but in a much larger 40-meter x 80-meter ring.\nThe drivers are required to perform a set of movements which include changes of pace\, circles\, turns\, extensions\, rein back and halt.  Each movement is judged and scores are tallied.\nThe object of cones is to drive through a course of narrowly spaced pairs of cones cleanly within time allowed. Each cone has a ball placed on top\, and any miscalculation will dislodge the ball\, thus incurring a penalty. This phase tests the fitness\, agility and obedience of the horse and the accuracy and skill of the driver.\n\n\n\n\nDay 2)  Arena Trials (AT) on Saturday:\n\nThe Arena Trials (AT) includes dressage\, cones\, and arena obstacles. Scores from all phases are combined.\nArena obstacles were created as a way to practice marathon obstacles without a full cross-country marathon.\nTwo obstacles are set up at either end of an arena\, with a start and finish line across the center of the arena.\nObstacles consist of large sturdy obstacles marked with gates\, which drivers must complete in the correct order.\nCompetitors are timed as they drive each obstacle twice.
